Plex - Remote access port Print

You may have noticed an error in the remote access section inside Plex which complains that Plex is not remotely accessible. This is normal because we use a custom server access URL instead of a Plex port to enable remote access.

If remote access was really disabled you wouldn't be able to access your Plex instance at all, because the network we host your Plex instance in is outside of your own network.

You may be wondering if the connection is getting relayed through Plex's server in this scenario. However this is not the case and you can verify that the connections are not being relayed by going to the Network settings inside Plex, and clicking on "Show Advanced". Scroll down a bit and you should be able to see that the "Enable Relay" box is unchecked. You can also see the custom server access URL here, please do not change it or it will break your Plex installation.
